Map An area around Shina-no-taki Falls is designated as one of the Prefectural Natural Environment Preservation Districts.
Shina-no-taki Falls is located at the boundary among the three towns, Konu, Kisa and Sera in the middle of Hiroshima Prefecture.
There are three falls which are called "Ichi-no-taki" (First Falls), "Ni-no-taki" (Second Falls) and "San-no-taki" (Third Falls). From the entrance of the falls, take a 1.5-kilometer walk along the stream to the uppermost falls, San-no-taki.

After hiking you can stop by at the Jimmy Carter Civic Center in Konu Town. The center was built in 1990 to commemorate former U.S. President Jimmy Carter's visit to the hometown of an old hanging bell. The hanging bell, which was made for a local temple, Shoganji, in 1820, is now displayed at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia in the U.S.
According to the temple's records, the hanging bell was turned in to Kure Naval Arsenal as a material to make shells at the end of the Second World War. However, it didn't become a weapon. The details are unclear why it crossed the Pacific Ocean.

On the third Sunday of July a big summer festival, Gionsan Festival, is held in Hichi in the town. It is said to have a 1,200-year tradition, and is dedicated to Susanoo no Mikoto, a god in Japanese mythology. The festival is carried out by imitating the wedding ceremony between him and his bride Inadahime. A 1.3-ton mikoshi (portable shrine) symbolizing her is an important cultural property of the prefecture.
