lwaidani Gorge

Iwaidani Gorge is situated in an area which is a 20-minute drive on a narrow road from Yuki Hot Spring to Mominoki Forest Park. From Otada, the meeting point of two streams, you can start walking up in a stream on your left side. After enjoying moderate stream walking for about an hour, you will reach a deep pond. which you have to cross over to swim or to scale the steep side of the old waterfall wall. You will soon get to a 20-meter-long waterfall called Oryuzu, Big Dragonfs Head.

You have to prepare to wear a pair of keiryutabi (split-toed felt-soled socks) which is available at fishing gear shops or a pair of keiryu shoes (felt-soled boots specialized for stream walking). Rain gear, warm clothes and change of clothes(in case you get wet) are also necessary.

ŸGetting there: Take Route 2 (Nishi-Hiroshima Bypass) to Hadeishi in Itukaichi, then take Route 41 to Yuki Town. Follow the signs. To get to Yuki Lodge, it will take about 80 minutes from downtown Hiroshima.
