Mt.Goja is located in Otake City, neighboring
Iwakuni City. Gyoja means monks who lead an ascetic life in
the mountains.It is said they used
to be
practicing in this mountain.
From JR Kuba Station, Mt.Gyoja would be a 1.5-hour ascent. Up at the mountaintop, the view of the Inland Sea is marvelous. From the top, go north for a couple of minutes and you can find a trail on your left down to the Kinryu Forest Park which is situated along the upper reaches of Daizengawa River. There is a beautiful waterfall there called Kinryu-no-taki. From the park, a trail leads you to Kuba Station. Follow the signboard.
