The 483-meter Mt.Futatsugajo, located in
Koyo Town, Asakita Ward, is an old mountain
castle site.
Take a bus from Hiroshima for Koyo Danchi (a residential area) on prefectural road 37, and get off at Iwanoue bus stop. In front of it is a restaurant named Gusto, which is the entry point of the mountain. First take a 20-minute walk to the foot of the mountain, crossing the Sanyo Expressway via an overpass. From there you can make an hour ascent up the mountain. It will be relatively cool even in summer, because the mountain trail stretches along streams, and you can walk in the shade of the trees. It may be a bit tough to climb up to the ridges of the mountain, but it would be worth doing so, because breezes will cool your body, and beautiful views will delight your eyes. Go down the same trail to the overpass.Then walk west along the expreeway to a golf driving range, and walk down to Shimo-Iwanoue bus stop which is one stop toward downtown Hiroshima from your starting point. ◆Getting there Take a bus for Koyo Danchi (a residential area) from Hiroshima Bus Center, get off at Iwanoue bus stop.Gusto is a 20-minute walk south from JR Kumura Station on the Geibi Line. ◆Suggested Schedule Gusto restaurant(10:00)---- Sanyo Expressway’s Overpass(10:20)--------Mt.Futatsugajo(11:30-13:00)--- Sanyo Expressway’s Overpass(13:30)--- ---Shimo-Iwanoue bus stop(14:00) |
