There is no sorrow for him who has

who has shaken off all feverish sufferings.

         The mindful forsake their homes

they do not enjoy themselves at home

like swans that have left their lake

        gati tesaṃ durannayā.

        Those who have no accumulation

those who know their food properly

those whose residence is  void and signless

those who are bound for emancipation

like the flight of birds through the air

        their course cannot be traced.

93.  yassāsavā parikkhīṇā

        āhāre ca anissito

        suññato animitto ca

        vimokho yassa gocaro

        ākāse va sakuntānaṃ

        padaṃ tassa durannayaṃ.

Those who have rid themselves of contaminations

those who are not attached to food

those whose residence is  void and signless

those who are bound for emancipation

like the flight of birds through the air

         their marks cannot be traced.

        devāpi tassa pihayanti tādino.

like horses well tamed by a charioteer

who are free from vanity and taints

        even the gods envy them.

        indakhīlūpamo tādi subbato

        rahado va apetakaddamo

        saṃsārā na bhavanti tādino.

like a firm pillar, such is the righteous person

he is like a pool of water free from mud

there are no cycles of births and deaths to such a person.

96.  santaṃ tassa manaṃ hoti

        santā vācā ca kamma ca

        sammadaññvimuttassa

        His thoughts are calm

his speech is calm, his deeds are calm

        released by the right knowledge

such a man is in tranquilness.

97.  assaddho akataññū ca

        sandhicchedo ca yo naro

        hatāvakāso vantāso

        sa ve uttamaporiso.

  (Indo-Iranian Journal Vol.35,1992, Minoru Hara)

The man who is free from credulity

                      who knows the urn created(Nibbāna),

who has cut off the links,

who has put an end to occasion of rebirth

                  who has renounced all desires,

         he,indeed,is a supreme man.

       [Or]

         Without being pious, nor faithful

         he is a burglar

he has lost the opportunity of the release

              he is a glutton,

the man, indeed, is the most daring.

         Delightful are the forests

where (worldly)people do not find delight

         there the passionless(Arahants)will find delight

         they seek no sensual pleasures.
